Training is accomplished through a combination of traditional vaquero style horsemanship and modern horsemanship techniques. Attention is paid to detail and work is completed at a pace the horse can understand with emphasis on the safety of your horse and myself.
Participation is encouraged to allow a smooth transition once your horse returns home. Weekly lessons are uniquely, free of charge during your horses training. And is your opportunity and responsibility to learn how to maintain his or her education and develop a positive and respectful relationship. There are many opportunities to continue your education with your own horse at our farm, including lessons and group activities, listed on the season schedule.
Groundwork Training $400/mo. total includes board
Groundwork is the language that you use to communicate with your horse. It creates a solid foundation for a young horse and helps to clear up confusion for an aged or problem horse. It is far more than basic halter breaking and prepares your horse for riding or any task that you may require of them during their lifetime. Including catching, leading, loading, tying, grooming, trimming, tacking-up or any of the tasks listed in “A Matter of Mutual Respect.” All of which serve to develop a positive and respectful relationship between you and your horse. Weekly lessons are uniquely, free of charge during your horses training. And is your opportunity and responsibility to learn how to maintain his or her education and develop a positive and respectful relationship.
Halter Breaking (weanlings to mature horses) $300/mo. total includes board
Includes basic halter breaking, catching, gentling, leading, handling of the feet for trimming.
Boarding $200/mo.
Includes 60ft. x 60 ft. paddock w/shelter.
(Hay & grain included w/board.)
Facilities include 12 x 14 ft. stalls, tack room, easy turn around for trailers, 60 ft. indoor arena, 65 ft. round corral, 1acre grass footing riding pen with ranch trail obstacles, 4 acre riding pasture. The Hennepin canal is located 2.5 miles from the barn, which has miles of groomed grass footing trail, accessible by riding or hauling from the barn.
Boarders enjoy use of the facilities and the convenience of having training, instruction, activities and clinics available year round, with no spectator fees. You will also benefit from quality farrier and veterinary service available through our barn. (Farrier, veterinary service and regular de-worming costs are the responsibility of the owner.)
