 Coggins Required, $35 per horse & rider, Check-in closed at 9a.m. Events Run Weather Permitting.

ATTENTION: Competitors must compete in smooth snaffles, rawhide or rope hackamores.      

Leverage bits or leverage devices, mechanical hackamores, tie-downs or martingales will not qualify to compete. 

      

GIMMEE THE DETAILS 

Includes: Horsemanship instruction, ranch trail obstacle course, team & individual competition.      

Points: earned for each properly executed obstacle. Although not a timed event, time is limited appropriately to negotiate entire course.      

Coursework: designed for beginners, intermediate or advanced riders & young colts or older horses & mules.      

The first hour is instructional and the course is designed for beginner or advanced horses. Points are given for each completed obstacle based on the horse & riders ability to complete the obstacle in a beginner or advanced fashion.      

For example: 6 cones in a straight line, 1 point beginner weaves thru cones, 2 point advanced weaves thru cones backwards.
At any time if you feel your horse will not negotiate an obstacle willingly or safely you may simply pass on that one and try the next one on the course.      

The competition is friendly and meant to movtivate students to challenge themselves, their horses or mules and their horsemanship skills.

Includes: Instruction getting horses started on cattle, moving and settling the herd, tracking, cutting individuals out of the herd, working individually and in groups to move cattle to desired locations.
